APD seeks public help in aggravated assault investigation on I-35

On April 29, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers from the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to a shooting incident on the northbound section of South Interstate Highway 35. The incident involved occupants of a pickup truck with a trailer firing shots at the driver of a blue Nissan sedan traveling in the center lane. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The case is being investigated as an aggravated assault. APD is actively seeking information regarding the suspects and their vehicle. Individuals who may have information, videos, or photos related to the incident are encouraged to submit them to APD investigators through a publicly available link.

A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
