Austin Parks and Recreation is set to introduce a new service aimed at easing weekend traffic in Zilker Park and Barton Springs. The free Zilker Loop, launching on Saturday, May 24, 2025, will offer visitors convenient access to key park attractions. This seasonal shuttle service will transport people from the Stratford Parking Lot to locations such as Zilker Playground, Barton Creek, and Barton Springs Pool.

Visitors using the Stratford Lot can waive parking fees for the first two hours with a code available through the parking app. Weekend and holiday parking at Zilker Park costs $3 per hour, with payments made via the Park ATX App.

The shuttle will operate every Saturday, Sunday, and on holidays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., starting May 24 until September 1, 2025. It will run during Memorial Day on May 26; Juneteenth on June 19; Independence Day on July 4; and Labor Day on September 1.

The Zilker Loop route features four stops: Stratford Lot, Playground, Barton Springs Pool, and Polo Fields Parking Area. The shuttle aims to make rounds approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. Pets and coolers are not permitted aboard.

Further details can be found at AustinTexas.gov/Zilker.
