On April 30, 2025, the Austin Police Department (APD) announced the arrest of Eloy Adrian Camarillo in connection with the murder of Jamie White. The incident occurred on March 9, 2025, at approximately 11:56 p.m. at the Chandelier Apartments located at 2336 Douglas Street. Jamie White was found with apparent trauma and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Camarillo, who is 17 years old, has been charged with Capital Murder. The arrest was made possible through tips submitted by community members via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. Eyewitness statements and surveillance camera footage played significant roles in leading to Camarillo’s arrest.

The APD expressed gratitude to those who provided information, stating: “Your willingness to come forward with information played a critical role in ensuring justice and maintaining the safety of our neighborhoods.” They further emphasized that this outcome highlights the importance of community cooperation: “This outcome is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together.”

The initial investigation revealed that White was shot in the parking lot of his apartment complex after possibly interrupting suspects burglarizing his vehicle. Detectives are seeking additional information from anyone whose vehicle may have been burglarized that night or who may have other evidence related to the case.

Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact the Austin Police Department or submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program for a potential reward.
