The Austin Police Department (APD) has made an arrest in connection with the homicide investigation at 2604 Aldrich Street. Darius Sebastian Hatcher, 26, was arrested on May 14, 2025, for the murders of Kendrick Parker and Shamar Roach. Hatcher faces charges of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons.

The incident occurred on April 20, 2025, when APD officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 9:30 p.m. Upon arrival at the parking garage on Aldrich Street, officers found Parker and Roach with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Witness interviews led detectives to identify a suspect vehicle. A be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) was issued by APD detectives. That night, Manor Police Department officers stopped the vehicle and transported Hatcher to APD Headquarters for questioning.

Detectives gathered further evidence through their investigation and obtained an arrest warrant for Hatcher on May 12, 2025. The Texas Lone Star Fugitive Task Force assisted in locating and arresting him two days later.

“There are no outstanding suspects related to this case,” stated APD officials.

The initial investigation revealed that the incident stemmed from a child custody dispute involving Parker and Roach with another group consisting of a male and female. The altercation escalated into violence when the male accompanying the female allegedly shot Parker and Roach.

APD continues its investigation into what is considered Austin’s 18th and 19th homicides of 2025. Authorities urge anyone with information about the incident to contact them at 512-974-TIPS or submit tips anonymously via the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program online or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
