Austin police investigate 20th homicide of 2025 on Rundberg Lane

On the night of April 25, 2025, a shooting incident occurred in the woods behind 506 E Rundberg Lane, as reported by Austin 9-1-1 who received multiple calls at approximately 11:29 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene found Gabrielle Williams, a Black female born on October 7, 2004, unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds. Her boyfriend had moved her from a nearby camp to the sidewalk in front of a car wash in a bid to get help. Williams was declared deceased on the scene at 12:30 a.m.

The Austin Police Department’s Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists were present to process the location and talk to witnesses. The initial investigation revealed that Williams was shot several times near her tent while with her boyfriend; the suspect then fled the scene.

Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program either online at austincrimestoppers.org or by phone at 512-472-8477. Information leading to an arrest could earn a reward of up to $1,000.

This incident marks the 20th homicide in Austin for the year 2025.
