Austin police investigate fatal crash involving SUV and van

On May 11, 2025, at approximately 1:05 a.m., the Austin Police Department responded to a collision between an SUV and a van on E. Koenig Lane. The driver of the SUV, Rodney Bremby, allegedly rear-ended the van. Marvin Taylor, the driver of the van, was pronounced dead at the scene. Bremby has been arrested on charges of intoxication manslaughter.

The incident marks Austin’s 28th fatal crash of the year, resulting in 32 fatalities so far in 2025. At this time last year, there were 26 fatal crashes with an equal number of deaths.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing. “These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash,” stated authorities, noting that “fatality information may change.”
