On Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., officers from the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to a report of a disturbance in the 6900 block of Scenic Brook Drive. The incident was described as a road rage event, resulting in a Hispanic male, aged 44, being found with life-threatening injuries. The injured individual was taken to a local hospital but was pronounced dead on Friday, April 18, 2025, at around 1:41 p.m.
APD officials have noted that the deceased’s identity remains confidential as investigations continue. The 57-year-old White male involved in the incident is not expected to face criminal charges at this time.
Police have confirmed that this is an isolated incident, asserting that there is no threat to the public at large. They are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch with the department.
