Austin police seek help identifying hit-and-run suspect

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking public assistance to identify a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident. The APD Highway Enforcement unit reported that the incident occurred on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at approximately 1 p.m. on the 12300 block of IH-35 NB.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash where one vehicle failed to stop and render aid, leaving the scene immediately after the collision. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“The Austin Police Department (APD) Highway Enforcement unit is requesting the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect in connection to failure to stop and render aid incident.”

Authorities have not provided a description of the suspect vehicle. They urge anyone with information about this incident or details about the suspect vehicle to submit tips anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477.
