Austin’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) has announced a rescheduling of its monthly Emergency Preparedness Pop-Up event. Initially planned for May 21, the event will now take place on December 10 from 3-6 p.m. at the Menchaca Road Branch Austin Public Library, located at 5500 Menchaca Rd. The change is due to necessary facility repairs.

The next scheduled pop-up will proceed as planned on June 18, from 3-6 p.m., at the Spicewood Springs Branch Austin Public Library, situated at 8637 Spicewood Springs Rd.

These events aim to help the community prepare for weather and other hazards. Representatives from HSEM, alongside other city departments and emergency response partners, will be present to offer tips, information, and supplies. The first 25 attendees will receive an emergency supply kit, limited to one per household.
