Austin seeks nonprofits to aid homeless families with supportive services

The City of Austin has issued a Request for Applications (RFA) seeking nonprofit organizations and non-government entities to provide supportive services to families experiencing homelessness. This initiative follows the approval of funding by the Austin City Council during the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget process, aiming to assist families in exiting homelessness and sustaining housing.

Applications for this RFA, titled “RFA HSO 2025-002 Supportive Services for Families Experiencing Homelessness,” are open from Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Interested applicants must submit their Intent to Apply by Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 3 PM CST. The final application deadline is Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 3 PM CST. Contracts are expected to start on September 1, 2025.

Questions regarding the RFA can be submitted until Friday, June 6, 2025. Additionally, technical assistance concerning submission through Partnergrants is available until Thursday, June 12, 2025. Questions should be directed in writing or through Partnergrants to Poleth Robledo at the Homeless Strategy Office via email at HSDCompetitions@austintexas.gov.

An optional pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11 AM. Registration for optional office hours with RFP SPOC and staff on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 2 PM is required.

Applicants must complete initial registration steps and an Intent to Apply form for each proposal by the specified due date as outlined in Form 1 – Offer Sheet.
