Caroline Harris Davila, State Representative for Texas’s 52nd House district, shared a series of posts over Memorial Day weekend honoring both the religious significance of Pentecost and the sacrifice of military personnel. Davila, a Republican elected to office in 2023, used her social media platform to mark these observances.
On May 24, Davila posted a Bible verse referencing Pentecost: “And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” Acts 2:3-4.
The following day, she acknowledged Memorial Day by quoting scripture and expressing gratitude for fallen soldiers. On May 25, Davila wrote, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13.
Later that evening on May 25, she thanked community members for participating in local commemorations across Williamson County. Her message read, Thank you to everyone who gathered across Williamson County to honor our fallen heroes on this Memorial Day. I had the opportunity to join with communities in Granger and Round Rock to remember the brave soldiers who sacrificed everything for our freedom. May God bless their.
Davila succeeded James Talarico after winning election in 2023 as representative for Texas’s 52nd House district.
While Caroline Harris Elementary School shares a similar name with Rep. Davila, it is unrelated; data from the California Department of Education show that during the 2020-2021 school year, grade 2 comprised the largest percentage—16.9 percent—of its student body (source).
