The Lamar Senior Activity Center is inviting the public to the annual Art On and Off the Wall event, which is set for Saturday, May 3, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event will be held at 2874 Shoal Crest Ave. and features the 29th Street Spring Art Show and Sale. This year’s event celebrates the creativity and talent of artists aged 50 and up.

The art show offers a range of eclectic handcrafted items. Attendees will find original artwork and crafts, including paintings, drawings, polymer clay art, fiber arts, jewelry, multi-media pieces, kitchen items, handmade soaps, latch hook rugs, sewing projects, paper crafts, and note cards.

Managed by Austin Parks and Recreation, the Lamar Senior Activity Center serves individuals aged 50 and older with diverse recreational, educational, and cultural programs. Events like Art On and Off the Wall provide a platform for participants to showcase their skills and promote community engagement.

The Lamar Senior Activity Center Advisory Board, a nonprofit organization run by senior volunteers, co-sponsors the event. The Advisory Board supports the Center’s programs and fundraising initiatives.
