Michael McCaul, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 10th district since 2005, shared a series of tweets addressing various issues. McCaul, who has been active in politics for two decades, took to social media to express his gratitude and thoughts on several matters.

On May 9, 2025, McCaul acknowledged the contributions of military spouses with a tweet stating: “Today, we recognize the incredible sacrifices of our service members’ spouses. Thank you for your courage, strength, and unwavering support for those defending our nation.”

The following day, on May 10, he commented on diplomatic efforts between India and Pakistan by expressing relief over avoided escalation: “This is fantastic news. Escalation between India and Pakistan — two nuclear powers — could have had devastating consequences. I’m grateful to President Trump’s team for taking swift action to prevent a broader conflict and am hopeful that upcoming talks between India and Pakistan.”

On May 11, in recognition of Mother’s Day, McCaul extended his well wishes to mothers nationwide while also paying tribute to his wife and mother: “Wishing a Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms in Texas and across the nation — especially to my beautiful wife, Linda, who gave us five children and continues to be an incredible mother to them. I’m so grateful for her and for the love I was shown by my own mother!”

Michael McCaul was born in Dallas in 1962 and resides in Austin. He graduated from Trinity University with a BA in 1984 and earned his JD from St. Mary’s University in Texas in 1987.
