Michael McCaul, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 10th district since 2005, shared several statements on social media regarding various topics of national and international interest. Born in Dallas in 1962, McCaul has been an active figure in American politics and currently resides in Austin.

On May 12, 2025, McCaul expressed his appreciation for law enforcement officers by stating “So grateful for our men and women in blue! Thank you for all you to do keep our communities safe.” This post highlights his support for the police force and their role in maintaining community safety.

Later that day, McCaul commented on President Trump’s upcoming trip to the Middle East. He tweeted “Ahead of President Trump’s trip to the Middle East, I joined @FacetheNation to share my thoughts on the crises in the region and the United States’ economic ties with our partners.” This indicates his engagement with foreign policy issues and economic relations.

In another tweet from May 12, McCaul shared news about Edan Alexander’s release from captivity. He stated “After 584 brutal days in Hamas captivity, Edan Alexander has finally been reunited with his family. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for Edan’s release & pray for mental and physical health in the days to come. Thank you, @POTUS, for fighting for every American hostage abroad.” This reflects his concern for American hostages overseas and gratitude towards efforts made by authorities to secure their release.

Michael McCaul has been a member of Congress since replacing Lloyd Doggett in 2005. A graduate of Trinity University and St. Mary’s University School of Law, he continues to be an influential voice on matters both domestic and international.
