Michael McCaul, a U.S. Congress member representing Texas’ 10th district, shared a series of tweets on social media reflecting both holiday sentiments and noteworthy events. Serving since 2005, McCaul shared his thoughts on Easter, the passing of Pope Francis, and a significant historical event for Texas.

On April 20, 2025, McCaul celebrated Easter with his followers, expressing his faith and good wishes: “He has risen! Wishing you and your family a Happy Easter!”

On the following day, April 21, 2025, McCaul expressed sorrow over the death of Pope Francis: “Deeply saddened to hear of Pope Francis’ passing, but I am at peace that he is in the house of the Father. It was an experience of a lifetime to meet the Holy Father the Pope to gain his wisdom and receive his blessing. A humble shepherd, he led with compassion, courage, and …”

Later that day, McCaul commemorated a pivotal moment in Texas history, the Battle of San Jacinto: “189 years ago, Texans won their independence in just 18 minutes at the Battle of San Jacinto. Today we hear their cry and “Remember the Alamo!””

Michael McCaul, born in Dallas in 1962, currently resides in Austin. His academic background includes a BA from Trinity University and a JD from St. Mary’s University, highlighting his deep roots and commitment to Texas.
