Motorcycle accident claims life of Enrique A. Torres in Austin

On May 11, 2025, at around 7:30 p.m., officers from the Austin Police Department responded to a motorcycle collision in the 12100 block of Metric Blvd. The incident involved no other vehicles. The motorcyclist, Enrique A. Torres, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced deceased on May 14, 2025.

The incident is under investigation as Austin’s 29th fatal crash of the year, contributing to a total of 33 fatalities in 2025. For comparison, by this date in 2024, there were 34 deaths resulting from fatal crashes.

The investigation remains ongoing, and details may change as more information becomes available. Authorities urge anyone with information about the crash to contact APD’s Vehicular Homicide Unit at 512-974-8111.
