Motorcycle accident claims life of Joseph E. Carrington in Austin

On the evening of May 25, 2025, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred in the 7500 block of FM 969 Road. The Austin Police Department (APD) responded to the scene at approximately 9:58 p.m., where they found the motorcyclist, Joseph E. Carrington. Despite life-saving efforts by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS), Mr. Carrington was pronounced dead at 10:14 p.m.

This incident marks Austin’s 36th fatal crash of the year, with a total of 40 fatalities so far in 2025. Comparatively, on this date last year, there were 31 fatal crashes resulting in 32 deaths. The investigation into this accident is ongoing, and details may change as more information becomes available.
