On the evening of May 25, 2025, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred in the 7500 block of FM 969 Road. The Austin Police Department (APD) responded to the scene at approximately 9:58 p.m., where they found the motorcyclist, Joseph E. Carrington. Despite life-saving efforts by Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS), Mr. Carrington was pronounced dead at 10:14 p.m.
This incident marks Austin’s 36th fatal crash of the year, with a total of 40 fatalities so far in 2025. Comparatively, on this date last year, there were 31 fatal crashes resulting in 32 deaths.
