Motorcycle collision claims life in South IH 35 crash

On April 26, 2025, a fatal collision occurred at around 10:44 a.m. in the 10500 block of South Interstate Highway 35 Northbound in Austin, Texas. The crash involved two motorcycles. John Carrizales, a Hispanic male born on August 18, 1973, was identified as the deceased individual at the scene. The other motorcyclist involved in the accident was uninjured and is cooperating with law enforcement.

The Austin Police Department (APD) has classified this incident as the 27th fatal crash in the city for the year, with a total of 31 fatalities resulting from these accidents. In comparison, on the same date in 2024, there were 24 fatal crashes leading to 24 deaths.

The investigation into this fatal collision is ongoing, and details surrounding the crash are subject to change as more information becomes available. “These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change,” an APD spokesperson stated.
