Motorcyclist dies after collision; Austin Police investigates 25th fatal crash of 2025

On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 10:21 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of East Riverside Drive and South Pleasant Valley Road in Austin. A pickup truck and a motorcycle were involved in the crash. Officers from the Austin Police Department responded to the scene. The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the site and cooperated with the investigation.

The motorcyclist, identified as Krishna Ghimire, was taken to a local hospital. Ghimire succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, April 23. The incident marks the 25th fatal crash in Austin for 2025, bringing the total number of fatalities to 29. On the same date last year, there were 24 fatal crashes resulting in 24 deaths.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with the current details subject to change as the inquiry continues.
