On April 15, 2025, a collision occurred in the 500 block of South Pleasant Valley Road, involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. The Austin Police Department (APD) responded to the incident at approximately 4:57 p.m., where they discovered the motorcyclist, identified as Cavione Marice Ranson, deceased at the scene. The individuals in the vehicle were unharmed, and the driver, who was not impaired, cooperated with the investigation.

This crash marks the 24th fatal incident in Austin in 2025, bringing the total number of fatalities to 28. Comparatively, on the same date in 2024, there were 24 fatal crashes resulting in 24 deaths. The investigation into this case is ongoing, and findings may be updated as further details emerge.
