In 2024, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) achieved significant milestones, reporting a total of 21.1 million passengers, marking the second busiest year on record for the airport. The increase in passenger numbers reflects the steady growth of the city and AUS’s dedication to enhancing travel experiences.

Austin-Bergstrom also expanded its international offerings, adding three new destinations accessible by direct flights. This expansion is part of AUS’s broader effort to connect travelers to more destinations worldwide.

Additionally, AUS continued its “Journey With AUS” expansion project, aiming to improve travel experiences through improved infrastructure and maintaining Austin’s distinct character. This initiative includes plans for more gates and easier traffic flow around the airport.

The airport emphasized local culture in 2024, notably through its food offerings, which included the sale of over 1 million tacos. The focus on local culture extended beyond food, incorporating live music, art, and a sense of community, making AUS not just a travel hub but also a cultural venue.
