On April 25, 2025, at approximately 6:01 a.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) attended to a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 9600 block of Research Boulevard SB. The pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene. The driver stayed at the location and is cooperating with the investigation.

This case marks Austin’s 26th fatal crash of the year, bringing the total fatalities to 30. The incident is under investigation, and authorities caution that details may change as more information becomes available. On the same day in 2024, there were 24 fatal crashes, resulting in 24 deaths.
