Austin, TX - The Austin Police Department (APD) is currently conducting a homicide investigation in the 2500 block of Sol Wilson Avenue. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at approximately 10:09 p.m. when APD officers responded to a call regarding a shooting.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered two male individuals with multiple gunshot wounds. Tragically, one of the victims, identified as Patrick Valadez, a Hispanic male born on November 28, 2006, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim is currently receiving medical treatment and is in stable condition.

According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Specialists, it was determined that the shooting took place during a party. The suspect, who had arrived at the gathering, was asked to leave. However, instead of complying, an altercation ensued, resulting in gunshots being fired in front of the residence. Both victims were struck by the gunfire.

The suspect quickly fled the area in a vehicle immediately after the shooting, leaving authorities with limited leads. This tragic incident marks the 64th homicide in Austin for the year 2023. As the investigation continues, the APD is committed to uncovering the truth and bringing the responsible party to justice.
