City of Austin government offices will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day. Business hours will resume Tuesday, November 12. The closures include City Council offices, all recreation and senior centers, cultural centers, museums, and libraries.
Utility Customer Service Centers will also be closed on Monday. Customers can make payments at COAUtilities.com or pay through various other methods listed on the website.
While City of Austin parks, playgrounds, year-round pools, tennis centers, and golf courses will remain open for their regular hours on Veterans Day, Parks and Recreation Department offices and related facilities will not be operational. Austin Resource Recovery services such as trash, recycling, and composting collections will continue as scheduled without interruption due to the holiday. The Recycle and Reuse Drop-off Center and administrative offices will close on November 11. However, Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant will operate during its usual hours for yard trimmings and large brush drop-off.
The Austin Animal Center is set to close on Monday but will resume regular hours the following day.
All branches of the Austin Public Library are scheduled to close both Sunday, November 10 and Monday, November 11. Normal operations are expected to resume on Tuesday.
Austin Public Health's Environmental Health Services at the Rutherford Lane Campus along with other health-related services like WIC clinics will not be available on Veterans Day.
Additionally, all locations of the Austin Municipal Court will observe a closure on this day.
Austin Water's administration offices are closing as well; however, for any water or wastewater emergencies during this period, residents are advised to contact their 24-Hour Customer Service Contact Center at (512) 972-1000.
