Electric vehicle manufacturer AYRO will relocate its Round Rock-based operation to a new, larger 24,000-square-foot facility that will allow the company to double its manufacturing operation.
According to a July 2 news release on the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce website, AYRO, formerly, Austin Electric Vehicle, is slated to add jobs, tooling, equipment and infrastructure as part of its five-year expansion plans.
“This investment not only creates more jobs for our residents; it also adds diversity to our city’s thriving economy," Round Rock Mayor Craig Morgan said.
AYRO CEO Rod Keller said the company hopes to continue to expand its operations in Round Rock over the next several years.
"The location and the business-friendly environment that both the City of Round Rock and the Round Rock Chamber exhibit will allow AYRO to continue to successfully expand operations over many years,” Keller said in a statement.
AYRO established its electric fleet vehicle manufacturing in 2017 and was previously leasing a facility at Chandler Creek, according to the release.
