The City of Austin is gearing up to host its annual Career Expo event on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center. Last year's event saw significant success, as noted by the statement, "Last year, our Career Expo attracted approximately 100 employers with more than 4,000 jobs."

The focus of the Career Expo remains on inclusivity and opportunity, with the primary goal being to provide job seekers from various backgrounds with valuable prospects. As stated, "The primary goal of this event is to provide opportunities for job seekers from all backgrounds, including justice-involved individuals, Veterans, Seniors (50+), and people with disabilities, to find viable jobs and to network with employers and resource providers."

Attendees can expect a wide array of opportunities at the Career Expo, with participation from various entities. "The Career Expo will include several City departments, private employers, state agencies, higher education and technical schools, temporary staffing agencies, and many smaller businesses with skilled, customer service and labor job openings."

"There is no cost for job seekers to attend, and a professional photographer will be onsite taking headshots of attendees at no charge."
