The City of Austin is gearing up to host its annual Career Expo on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center. Last year's event saw a significant turnout, with approximately 100 employers offering over 4,000 job opportunities.

According to the organizers, the main objective of the Career Expo is to provide a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds to explore job opportunities and connect with potential employers and support services. As stated by the event organizers, "The primary goal of this event is to provide opportunities for job seekers from all backgrounds, including justice-involved individuals, Veterans, Seniors (50+), and people with disabilities, to find viable jobs and to network with employers and resource providers."

The Career Expo is set to feature a wide array of participants, including City departments, private companies, state agencies, educational institutions, staffing agencies, and small businesses offering various job openings in skilled, customer service, and labor sectors. As highlighted by the organizers, "There is no cost for job seekers to attend, and a professional photographer will be onsite taking headshots of attendees at no charge."

Individuals interested in attending the Career Expo can register for the event at Austintexas.gov/CareerExpo. This event presents a valuable opportunity for job seekers to explore potential career paths, network with industry professionals, and take advantage of the diverse range of job openings available.
