Congressman Michael McCaul and Committee Chairman Mark Green have introduced the VALID Act, aiming to prevent illegal immigrants from boarding U.S. commercial flights without proper identification. McCaul emphasized the importance of enforcing laws to protect Americans, stating, "By allowing thousands of illegal immigrants to fly without the same ID documents required of every American, the Biden administration has dismantled that work and put communities across the nation at risk."

Chairman Green echoed these sentiments, expressing concern over the current practice of illegal immigrants using inadequate documents to board flights, stating, "This puts Americans at risk. Illegal immigrants should have to comply with the same laws as American citizens, especially when it comes to valid identification."

Senator Mike Lee is leading similar legislation in the Senate, emphasizing the need for consistency in ID requirements for all individuals entering the country. Lee highlighted the detrimental impact of the Biden administration's policies on national security, stating, "The VALID Act resolves to close the loopholes that have allowed 200,000 illegal immigrants into the country unchecked."

Chad Wolf, former acting Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, criticized the Biden administration's policy of allowing illegal aliens to board flights with unverified documents, stating, "The administration’s unlawful use of the CBP One app to mass parole inadmissible aliens into American communities raises both legal and public safety concerns." Wolf emphasized the importance of the VALID Act in addressing these issues and ensuring the safety of the American people.

The VALID Act has garnered support from various lawmakers, including original cosponsors such as Reps. Clay Higgins, Dan Crenshaw, and Scott Perry. The legislation aims to tighten security measures and enforce consistent ID requirements for all individuals boarding commercial flights into the U.S.
