On the evening of November 28, 2024, a fatal traffic incident occurred in Austin. The crash took place at approximately 9:15 p.m. in the 8200 block of FM 969 Road and involved two motor vehicles.
The Austin Police Department (APD) reported that the driver of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the second vehicle were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
This crash is under investigation as Austin's 81st fatal crash of the year, bringing the total fatalities to 86. By comparison, on this date in 2023, there had been 80 fatal crashes resulting in 83 deaths.
