Police seek public help after armed robbery at Rutland Market

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking the public's help in locating a suspect involved in an aggravated robbery. The incident took place on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Rutland Market, situated at 900 Rutland Drive, Austin, Texas.

According to the APD Robbery Unit, the suspect entered the market around 11:23 p.m., brandishing a black handgun. The individual demanded that the store clerk open the cash register and subsequently stole an undisclosed sum of money. After committing the robbery, the suspect fled on foot heading westbound on Rutland Drive.

Authorities have not released a detailed description of the suspect. However, they urge anyone with information about this crime to contact APD's Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting their website or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
