On Sunday, April 20, 2025, Austin Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at a parking garage located at 2604 Aldrich Street. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Kendrick Parker and Shamar Roach lying on the ground with apparent gunshot wounds. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspects involved fled the area but were subsequently detained by police. According to the Austin Police Department, the initial investigation suggests that the altercation stemmed from a child custody dispute involving two groups: Kendrick Parker and Shamar Roach on one side and a male and female on the other. The confrontation escalated, resulting in Parker and Roach being shot.
At this time, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains ongoing. Authorities are seeking additional witnesses to the incident and are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
The incident is being investigated as the 18th and 19th homicides in Austin for the year 2025.
