Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is gearing up for a busy Spring Break and Spring Festival Season travel period, expecting a high volume of passengers from March 7 to March 31. According to AUS leadership, departing travelers should plan ahead, arrive early, and be prepared for a bustling terminal.
Interim Chief Executive Officer of AUS, Ghizlane Badawi, emphasized the importance of early arrival and preparation for travelers, stating, “We’re looking forward to helping passengers reach their spring destination this travel season. Our staff has been working hard to prepare the airport for an increase of travelers and will continue to work hard throughout this busy travel period. We do ask that passengers plan to arrive early, refer to our travel tips, and show kindness to others along their journey.”
To assist travelers during the anticipated busy days, extra Department of Aviation staff will be deployed throughout the terminal. Passengers requiring assistance are encouraged to contact the Airport Operations Center at (512) 530-2242 or seek help from any Department of Aviation staff member.
In addition to preparing for the surge in passengers, AUS has provided tips for travelers, including guidance on packing, security screening, passenger parking or drop off, mobility assistance, accessibility needs, and flight check-in procedures.
