Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a call in the 2900 block of South U.S. Highway 183 SB in the early hours of Monday, February 26, 2024. According to the authorities, a male individual was found outside a vehicle in a field, suffering from gunshot wounds. The male was later identified as Rigoberto Castro-Momner and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As the investigation unfolds, the APD stated that no arrests have been made yet, and the case is still ongoing. They urge anyone with information related to the incident to come forward by contacting the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. The tragic event has been classified as Austin's 11th homicide of 2024. In an effort to gather more information and bring justice to the situation, a reward of up to $1,000 may be provided for any details that lead to an arrest.
