Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) has reported significant achievements in 2024, emphasizing its commitment to local businesses and customer satisfaction. The airport sold over one million tacos through vendors like Taco Deli and The Peached Tortilla, highlighting its popularity among travelers. May was a record-breaking month with more than two million passengers.
AUS's focus on offering diverse food options continued with The Salt Lick BBQ serving 170,000 pounds of brisket and 24 Diner using over 31,000 eggs and 26,000 burgers. The Beerdrop provided more than 71,000 beers while Komé Sushi A-Go-Go sold approximately 40,000 sushi rolls.
Delaware North and HMSHost represented AUS at Austin’s Mac & Cheese Festival, where Delaware North won the People’s Choice Award for Best Mac & Cheese. At the Food & Wine Festival, Paradies Lagardère and Vino Volo offered Texas wines and pimento cheese deviled eggs.
The Saxon Pub introduced Garrison Brothers' products to their offerings. Local drinks like The Tito’s Daytrip are available across various outlets within the airport. Costa Coffee machines have been upgraded for efficiency.
Retail at AUS also saw growth with new stores such as Austin Vibes near Gate 8. During the holiday season, Delaware North collaborated with The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation to collect donations for children in need.
AUS expressed gratitude to travelers for supporting local businesses which contribute to a thriving job market in Austin.
