Austin Resource Recovery Curbside Collections will adhere to their regular schedules without any interruptions due to the holiday. Residents can verify their collection schedule through the Austin Recycles app or by visiting austintexas.gov/myschedule. While the Recycle and Reuse Drop-off Center will be closed, Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant will operate as usual from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., accepting yard trimmings and large brush drop-offs.
The Parks and Recreation Department has announced that city parks, golf courses, cemeteries, and year-round pools will remain open. However, operating hours may vary by location and adverse weather conditions could affect availability. For current information, residents are encouraged to check the Parks and Recreation and Park Closures pages.
The City advises residents to make use of these public resources if needed during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
