The City of Austin's Small and Minority Business Resources Department (SMBR) has unveiled an exciting collaboration with the Economic Growth Business Incubator (EGBI) aimed at enhancing support services for small, minority, and women-owned businesses in the city. Director of SMBR, Edward Campos, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the commitment to the growth and success of MBE/WBE enterprises in Austin. Campos stated, "Through this partnership, we are reinforcing our commitment to the growth and success of small, minority and women-owned businesses in Austin."
EGBI's Executive Director, Larissa Davila, shared her excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the organization's dedication to providing extensive coaching hours to business owners. Davila mentioned, "Our goal is to provide sustainable growth and success for the businesses that provide traction to our economy."
The partnership between SMBR and EGBI will offer a range of services to strengthen business capabilities, including orientation and training on navigating city procurement processes, expert business coaching, financial operations support, and hands-on assistance in utilizing financial reports for business management.
This collaboration represents a significant advancement in fostering business development and economic mobility in Austin. By empowering small, minority, and women-owned businesses, the City of Austin demonstrates its commitment to creating an inclusive and thriving business environment.
To participate in the training, coaching, and support provided by EGBI, small and minority-owned businesses are encouraged to complete a short intake form available on the City's website and submit it to SMBR's Program Manager, Catherine Sak.
