City of Austin government offices will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2024, in observance of Memorial Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
Austin Resource Recovery has announced that curbside collections for trash, recycling, and composting will follow regular schedules and will not be affected by the holiday. Customers can check their collection schedule through the Austin Recycles app or at austintexas.gov/myschedule. The Recycle and Reuse Drop-off Center and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, but Austin Water’s Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Plant will remain open for yard trimmings and large brush drop off.
The Parks and Recreation Department stated that City of Austin Recreation Centers, Senior Centers, Museums, and Cultural Centers will be closed on Monday. However, city parks, playgrounds, tennis centers, and golf courses will operate as usual. Additionally, Bartholomew, Barton Springs, Big Stacy, Deep Eddy, Garrison, Northwest, and Springwoods Pools along with all city-wide splash pads will be open. Austin Energy's Utility Customer Service Centers will also be closed on Monday. Utility bill payments can still be made online at COAutilities.com or through other available payment methods listed on their website.
The Austin Public Library locations are scheduled to close both Sunday and Monday. Remote library resources can still be accessed via the Austin Public Library website: library.austintexas.gov.
The Austin Animal Center will not operate on Monday but will reopen on Tuesday.
