Austin police seek help identifying suspect in Cricket Wireless store robbery

On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Austin Police responded to an aggravated robbery at the Cricket Wireless store located at 529 West Oltorf Street. According to authorities, the suspect pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded cash. After obtaining money from the register, the suspect fled on foot toward Gillis Neighborhood Park at 2410 Durwood Street. Detectives interviewed witnesses, collected evidence, and initiated an investigation.

The suspect is described as a Black male between 17-25 years of age with a thin build and tattoos on his right forearm. He was wearing a black Nike baseball hat, black Nike sweatshirt, black jogger pants, and Yeezy 700s sneakers. The suspect was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.
