After experiencing occasional technical difficulties earlier today, the capital area region 9-1-1 system is normalizing. An all-clear has not been issued yet as authorities continue to monitor the situation.

The impact on the Austin area resulted in some 9-1-1 callers and call-takers having difficulty hearing each other, missing automatic location information, and causing some calls to be answered by a neighboring jurisdiction.

This was not a complete outage of the 9-1-1 system. Emergency calls are still coming through. Until these technical issues with 9-1-1 are completely resolved, callers experiencing a life-threatening emergency and having difficulty getting through to 9-1-1 should call 3-1-1 or 512-974-2000.
