As the new academic year begins, the Austin Parks and Recreation Department has announced that registration for its youth soccer leagues is now open. The leagues cater to children aged 3 to 12 and will be accepting registrations from August 12 to August 30, 2024.
The Community Recreation Center co-ed youth recreational soccer leagues are designed for beginner to intermediate players. The program emphasizes skill development and teamwork, providing participants with an opportunity to make new friends, gain confidence, and stay active.
Participants will be placed in age divisions based on their age as of September 1, 2024. The league features weekly practices over eight weeks at designated recreation centers and six games during the season. Game times, dates, and locations may vary depending on total league enrollment.
Players are required to bring their own shin guards and a water bottle to all practices and games. Each participant will receive a t-shirt and an end-of-season award as part of the program fee.
The registration cost is $40 for City of Austin residents and $70 for non-residents. Financial aid is available for eligible households; more details can be found at http://www.AustinTexas.gov/FinancialAid.
Late registration will be available from August 31 to September 6, 2024, with an additional $10 late fee.
