Austin police seek help identifying suspects in aggravated robbery case

The Austin Police Department (APD) is seeking public assistance in identifying suspects involved in an aggravated robbery of an elderly person. The incident took place on October 2, 2024, around noon at the Walmart parking lot located at 13201 North FM 620.

According to APD's Robbery Unit, the victim had just exited the store and was placing her purchases in her vehicle's trunk when she was attacked. As she approached the driver's door, three suspects confronted her, demanding her purse and threatening her life when she refused. One suspect was reportedly armed with a knife. The assailants struck the victim multiple times on the head and back before seizing her purse and fleeing from the scene.

The descriptions of the suspects have not been provided. Authorities urge anyone with information about this crime to contact APD's Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest.
