Michael McCaul, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas' 10th district, has shared his thoughts on recent international and domestic issues through a series of tweets. McCaul, who has been serving in Congress since 2005, commented on matters related to Israel and the State Department.
On February 20, 2025, McCaul expressed condolences to the Bibas and Lifshitz families as well as the Israeli people following a tragic event. He stated, "My heart goes out to the Bibas and Lifshitz families—and the Israeli people—as they mourn this horrific and unnecessary loss. May the memories of Kfir, Ariel, Shiri, and Oded be a blessing." He further affirmed that "The United States will continue to stand with Israel until Hamas is eliminated."
Later that day, McCaul voiced his support for President Trump's initiative to reform certain programs within the State Department. He remarked on February 20, 2025: "I support President Trump’s efforts to eliminate programs at the State Department that do not put America first..." However, he also noted his concerns about reports regarding some of these efforts.
In another tweet dated February 21, 2025, McCaul criticized Hamas for their actions and called for international unity against such crimes. He wrote: "Hamas' inhumanity knows no bounds... The international community must stand together against this savage crime." McCaul urged Hamas to honor ceasefire agreements by returning an individual named Shiri.
