Motorcyclist dies in collision on S Capital of Texas Highway

On March 18, 2025, at around 7:07 p.m., the Austin Police Department (APD) responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on the 1800 block of S Capital of Texas Highway NB. The motorcyclist, identified as Jordan Sam Ayasra, was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was unharmed, showed no signs of impairment, stayed at the location, and is cooperating with authorities.

This incident marks Austin's 18th fatal crash in 2025, resulting in a total of 22 fatalities so far this year. Comparatively, on the same date in 2024, there were also 18 fatal crashes leading to 18 deaths.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing. "These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash," APD noted, adding that "fatality information may change."
