Austin Animal Center, in collaboration with Greater Good Charities, is organizing a spay/neuter clinic for cats and dogs at the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center from April 3 to April 7, 2025. This initiative aims to promote pet health by offering free vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, and microchips, along with the surgeries. By reducing animal overpopulation, these services contribute to safer neighborhoods and help decrease the number of stray and homeless animals.

Spokespeople from both organizations will be available for media interviews on the morning of April 3. They are prepared to discuss the goals of the clinic and the significance of these services for pets and the community.

This marks the fourth free clinic in the past seven months, with plans for additional clinics throughout the year. Previous clinics have served over 3,000 pets, and the upcoming clinic is expected to perform 1,200 surgeries. By doing so, the initiative aims to relieve local shelters and encourage responsible pet ownership.

The clinic offers same-day procedures at no cost, addressing the financial and logistical barriers that often prevent pet owners from accessing necessary care for their animals.

Media availability on April 3 will include Elizabeth Ferrer, Public Information and Marketing Program Manager, and Dr. Ruth Parkin, Veterinary Medical Director, Greater Good Charities. Interviews will be conducted in both English and Spanish.

This effort highlights the commitment of Austin Animal Center and Greater Good Charities to foster healthier communities through accessible pet care.
