The Small and Minority Business Resources Department (SMBR) has posted the final draft of the proposed revisions to the City of Austin’s Minority-Business Enterprise and Women Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) Procurement Program Ordinance (City Code Chapter 2-9A-D). The posted revisions include track changes to reflect what was in the original ordinance(s) and what is being revised.

On Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at approximately 11:29 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to several calls from people who reported hearing gunshots in the area of Manor Road and Rogge Lane. Officers at the scene checked that location but could not locate any victims. A short time later, a woman called 911, stating her boyfriend had been shot. Officers responded a few blocks from where the shots were fired to Breeze Way, where they located Davante Reece with apparent gunshot wounds. Reece died at the scene.
On Saturday, May 6, 2023, at approximately 6:56 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 13200 block of North IH 35 Service Road NB. The driver of the SUV Lucas Aubry Barth was taken to a local hospital, where he died a short time later.
