The Austin Police Department (APD) Vehicular Homicide Unit is seeking the public's assistance in identifying two persons of interest who may have information about a fatal crash. The incident occurred on Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the 2200 block of East 7th Street, resulting in the death of Migle Kungyte, a white female and an active duty soldier.
Upon receiving a call about the crash at approximately 3:07 a.m., APD officers promptly arrived at the scene and discovered the lifeless body of Migle Kungyte. In their investigation, APD detectives uncovered video footage that captured two individuals who are believed to have crucial information regarding the tragic incident. Person #1, described as a white or Hispanic male, was last seen wearing a white ball cap, light shirt, dark shorts, and white socks with white shoes. Person #2, described as a Hispanic or Black male, was last seen wearing a black jacket, grey shirt, and blue jeans.
Additionally, authorities are also interested in locating a vehicle that may be connected to the incident. The vehicle in question is described as a white 2018-2022 Toyota 4Runner Limited Edition with black wheels and a bike rack on the rear. It is important to note that the vehicle has no front license plate, and the rear license plate is currently unknown.
The APD is urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with their investigation. Informants have the option to remain anonymous, and there is a possibility of receiving a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
Additionally, individuals can contact the Army Crime Investigations Division (CID) Central Texas Field Office at 254 287-2722. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Army CID Submit-A-Tip online form. Those who wish to remain anonymous will be protected to the fullest extent allowed by law, and all information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality. It is worth noting that a reward of up to $10,000 may be available for credible information related to the incident.

The identification of the two persons of interest and the recovery of the vehicle could provide crucial leads in bringing justice to the victim, Migle Kungyte, and her loved ones.
