APD Detectives Search for a Suspect in Connection to Mail Theft

Austin Police Department (APD) detectives are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a case of mail theft. The incident took place on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at approximately 3:57 a.m. at 2401 Aldrich Street.

According to the APD, the suspect entered the mail room of the apartment complex and used a mail master key to gain access to all the mailboxes. A significant amount of mail was stolen during the incident. The department has released a photo and description of the suspect to aid in the identification process.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black jeans, Nike gray tennis shoes, and a pink beanie cap.

APD is urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation. Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program. Tips can be submitted by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. There is a possibility of a reward of up to $1,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.
