U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) has expressed his excitement and support for Texas A&M University being named as one of the Space Strategic Technology Research Institutes by the U.S. Space Force. In a statement, Rep. McCaul stated, "I am thrilled the U.S. Space Force has named Texas A&M as one of its Space Strategic Technology Research Institutes. Rep. McCaul emphasized the importance of maintaining America's leadership in space exploration and technology development. He praised Texas A&M University for its dedication to research and development in the field of space operations, particularly the work being done by Dr. Ambrose and his team at the RELLIS campus.

"The RELLIS campus is on the leading edge of research and development for many of our most challenging threats in space," Rep. McCaul said.

The system plays a crucial role in educating over 153,000 students and making more than 23 million additional educational contacts through service and outreach programs each year. Additionally, the Texas A&M System's research and development expenditures exceed $1 billion, contributing significantly to the state's economy.

The inclusion of Texas A&M University as a Space Strategic Technology Research Institute by the U.S. Space Force is a testament to the institution's commitment to pioneering advancements in space technology. With this recognition, Texas A&M will continue to contribute to America's efforts in space exploration and ensure that the country remains at the forefront of the global space race.
