On January 7, 2024, a tragic shooting took place at 9411 Parkfield Drive in Austin, Texas. The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals, Deondre Flint and Jamie Davis. The Austin Police Department (APD) received multiple calls reporting the shooting at approximately 4:46 a.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Flint and Davis, both unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite prompt medical attention, they succumbed to their injuries shortly thereafter. Another individual was also injured in the incident but is expected to recover.

Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists were immediately dispatched to the location to investigate the incident. Through their diligent efforts, it was determined that Davis and his girlfriend had been asked to leave the game room prior to the shooting. As they exited the premises, a physical altercation ensued between Davis' girlfriend and a female employee of the game room.

The situation quickly escalated, leading to a confrontation between Davis and security personnel. It was established that Davis was the one who shot and killed Flint. In response, another security employee fired at Davis, resulting in his demise. The security employee involved in Davis' shooting has fully cooperated with the investigation.

Following a thorough review, the Travis County District Attorney's Office concluded that the security employee's actions were justified. As a result, no charges have been filed, and none are expected to be filed in the future.

The APD is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation. Tips can be provided by contacting the Austin Police Department at 512-974-TIPS. Alternatively, individuals can submit anonymous tips through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by visiting austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-8477.

This tragic incident marks Austin's second and third homicides of 2024. The authorities are committed to ensuring a thorough investigation and bringing closure to the families affected by this senseless act of violence.
