The Austin Police Department (APD) is currently investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, January 8, 2024, in the 9300 block of Northgate Boulevard at the Avalon Palms apartment complex. The victim has been identified as Francisco Muntufa Miranda, a 21-year-old Hispanic male.
According to reports, APD officers responded to a shooting at the Avalon Palms apartment complex at around 7:48 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Miranda with a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to a local hospital by the Austin-Travis County EMS but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists were called to the scene to gather evidence and process the area. It has been determined that one or more suspects involved in this case may frequent the Avalon Palms apartment complex. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect(s) remain at large.
In light of this tragic incident, the Austin Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in providing any information related to this murder or the suspect(s).
